You can create your VetDB practice account right now, by following any one of the "Get started" buttons or links around this site (or below). We will then support you with hardware implementation and staff training. Generally, practices are up and running within a week, depending on your team's availability.
Calculating exactly which vaccinations are needed for an animal is a complex task that needs to take into account an animal's species, breed, age and previous vaccinations. Previously, there's been no simple way to do this and so many animals end up over or under vaccinated. VetDB's smart vaccination statuses take all of these factors into account to automatically calculate exactly which individual pathogens to vaccinate against and when.
To get started, your practice needs to be using a compatible PIMS, then you'll need a Bluetooth enabled microchip scanner, a VetDB Hub, a VetDB account, and the VetDB app on your smart phone or device. We can provide you with a VetDB Starter Kit with the all hardware you'll require.
At a minimum, a practice requires 1x VetDB Hub and 1x Microchip Scanner (Bluetooth compatible). A VetDB Starter Kit is available if your practice doesn't have compatible microchip scanners. The Starter Kit contains: * 2 x V8BT RT100 Microchip Scanners * 1 x VetDB Hub (Wifi, Ethernet) * Cables and accessories * Setup manuals and documentation Price: $700 inc. GST We offer a 30 day full refund and return if you decide VetDB isn't for you. Individually, scanners can be purchased at $350 inc GST each. Talk to our team about your practice size and current hardware and we'll advise on the most cost effective setup for you.
VetDB integrates with your Practice Management Software to access patient details when an animal's microchip is scanned. The integration also enables VetDB to add verified data to the patient's health record, such as vaccinations and pathology results. For a full list of integrations, visit the Partners & Integrations page.
Only an animal's registered vet and the diagnostic services they use for their normal case management can see the medical data. Access is controlled by the registered vet. Service providers, like pathology labs and emergency hospitals, must be granted access by the registered vet.
Data security and privacy are of the highest importance to VetDB. VetDB collects the objective medical data you would find on a vaccination certificate, a clinical pathology submission form or a microchip registration form. For VetDB to create verifiable medical data, some recorded events may capture location and user data when scanning a microchip or recording data. All the data remains the property of the veterinary business.
Vetpath manages your practice's supply of VetDB compatible consumables, such as uniquely barcoded test tubes and sample containers. These can also be ordered online via the link below:
Verifiable data is data that's checked independently for accuracy and authenticity. Through automation and blockchain technology, VetDB can securely record and confirm details like time, location, identity, vaccination history and more. When a veterinary practice is using VetDB verified data, they're working with the best quality health records.
VetDB verified health records/health data is data captured and verified through the VetDB app. This verified health data is linked to the patient through the scan of an animal's microchip. It cannot be lost, and remains with the animal and their microchip for life.
To maintain the functionality of the platform, VetDB securely stores the data we capture. These functions include ongoing access to the digital owner certificate portal, pathology submissions and results delivery, patient information accuracy checks, as well as facilitating the ability to link medical data to an animal's unique microchip number.
VetDB offers pay-as-you-go pricing where you only pay for what you need when you need it. Paid features: Digital Vaccination recording costs $2 per vaccination event. Free features: * Pathology submissions are provided to you by Vetpath, free of charge. * Accurate record checker (ensure your patient and owner records are complete and accurate) * PIMS check-in * Weight recording to PIMS
As per our privacy policy, terms of use and End User License agreements, VetDB will never disclose personal private information to a third party that hasn't been authorised by practice. For example, by submitting a pathology lab request to Vetpath, the vet is authorising VetDB to transmit the specific information required for the submission. VetDB uses SSL/TLS encryption for all communication, ensuring the highest security and data protection standards. Data is always transmitted securely over an encrypted channel (TLS encryption in transit), with sensitive data always encrypted at rest, within the database adhering to stringent Australian Digital Health Agency operating standards. Our software packages are digitally signed to prevent tampering.
Every sample delivered to Vetpath is treated the same, with the aim of delivering the highest quality service in the shortest time possible. VetDB submissions don't require manual processing when arriving at the Vetpath Laboratory and these efficiencies can improve the turnaround time for delivering results back to your practice.
